Week 6-landscaping

  1. I am posting my reflections to my photos here, because the internet disconnected just as I was posting the pictures.

In all these landscaping photos I was trying to get the look of several layers. Close, mid-range and far away. In photos #1, #2, and #4 I had really focused on the rule of thirds. In photo #4, I accidentally ended up with a bit of a three dimensional look.

In photo #2 I really like the reflection of the trees that show up in the water. Again, this was a "happy mistake" but I like it.

In photo #5--this was a breath taking view with my eye. This photo, and some of the others I took of it, did not show what I saw with my eye. I think I should have widened my focus to encompass more of the entire mountain range.

My favorite is photo #3 with the bare tree branches sticking up into the sky. I didn't properly use the rule of thirds here, as I wanted to get more of the sky and its unusual pattern. Overall, if I had taken these pictures a week earlier, there would have been more color schemes to look at. Instead, the colors are slightly bland.

  2. I like the fourth photo with the different lines on the tree tops to the rolling landscape of the ground. The ground looks like it has more than one level to it.
